Vandoren Java reed for soprano sax
The Vandoren Java reed was launched in the 1980s to accommodate a growing demand for reeds suited for playing pop and entertainment music. The Java reed has a relatively thin and flat heart with a thick tip. The flat cut makes it possible to bring more of the reed into motion, and the thick tip allows for a contrasting and expressive articulation.
Single reeds in flowpack
The reed is packed at the Vandoren Factory in southern France in a flowpack, to protect the reed from drying out and keep it factory fresh.
