About the clarinet
The B flat clarinet is the most common clarinet and the one usually referred to, when you just say 'clarinet'. 95% of all clarinettists play the B flat clarinet (or soprano clarinet as it is sometimes called) and the instrument is the basis for the rest of the clarinet family.
The B flat clarinets deepest written note is the E to octaves below the middle C, which is a natural D.
Professional clarinets are usually made from grenadilla wood, but student clarinets can be made from ABS resin as well. Of these models we recommend Yamaha's student model (YCL-255S), which has silver plated keys, Valentino pads and is very durable for a clarinet in that price range.
Of the professional models Buffet Crampon's RC and Festival are the most popular.
All of our clarinets are adjusted and readied at our specialist workshop, and are sold with a 12 months guarantee of unlimited access to adjustments.
