Vandoren B40 for Eb clarinet is one of the most popular mouthpieces on the market, among both amateurs and professionals. The mouthpiece has the same facing as B45 but a wider tip rail, and offers a compact and focused sound. The mouthpiece has a 110,5 (1/100 mm) tip opening and a medium facing. Vandoren recommends the following reed strengths:
