The Silverstein ligature is essentially a classic string ligature, but with a pretty fantastic new design. It's made from braided thread with screws and tuners in gold. Model Cryo4 differs from the "ordinary" Silverstein ligature by the cryogenically treated metal - that means the gold has been frozen to -186 degrees celsius. This results in a very refined, homogenous metal, through which the sound can travel quicker and more naturally.

The ligature touches a minimum of the reed surface and allows the reed to vibrate as freely as possible. The so-called fine tuners can be adjusted to achieve precisely the colour and focus you're looking for.

The cool thing about this ligature is that it's simple, but still incredibly sensitive. While "releasing" the reed, and letting it vibrate naturally, it still maintains a soft, dark center. Where similar ligatures sometimes get a bit too "bright", the Silverstein has effectively avoided that risk.

The ligature can be soaked in water, which prevents the reed for drying out or warping on the mouthpiece.

Fits the following mouthpieces:
Claude Lakey
Jody Jazz Giant, HR*
Lebayle LRIII
